Fairy Lights

I found this great tutorial on how to make fairy lights on Pintrest by Ozma of Odds!  I tried my hand at it and they turned out sooo darn cute!   I chose to put little doilies in the center, but you could use whatever you wanted.  Wouldn't these be lovely for a wedding?  The great thing is that they only cost about $6.00 to make!  Wow!  What a deal!

Robin's Egg Blue Chalkboard

I am really getting into painting, upcycling and repurposing!  Check out this Robin's Egg Blue Chalkboard made from a vintage Homco wall pocket mirror.  I sooo love, love, love this color!  It's just so bright and happy!

Customer Steals Your Design!

I have been upset about something for the last few weeks.  It never really fires up until I get on Pintrest and see my designs being sold by someone that bought jewelry from me.  I know there are a lot of times when people come up with the same ideas, but this woman blatantly copied my jewelry.  She ordered a piece, maybe even two, from me on Etsy, then convo'd me a few times, placed a large custom order that she never paid for and now I see her face on Pintrest copying my jewelry!!  It's extremely annoying and I realize this is a pointless rant, but I just had to get it out! GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

C'est la vie!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Pedestal Cloche

An update to my previous post, much better pictures.  Another update!  Sold on Etsy!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint I'm Lovin' It!

I have a confession to make.  I am totally in love with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Waxes!  I have put aside my jewel tools for a bit and started playing around with painting furniture and other items, which I’ve wanted to do for 20 years, but couldn’t stand the thought of sanding, priming and painting.  Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is the perfect solution! I have a ton of items that I’ve been storing in my garage over the years that I thought would be perfect to paint and now I can finally put them to good use!  If you haven’t tried this paint, I encourage you to buy just one pot.  It is fantastic and that one pot will go a long way!  The waxes are like no other as well.  There is a learning curve with the paint and the wax, but once you get it, you really get it!  And it doesn’t take days or weeks of tears!  I am on my third project and it looks awesome!  Really professional in my opinion.  Let me know what you think.  I made this pedestal cloche from a cheese dome and a candlestick base.  I painted it with AS Duck Egg Blue and waxed with AS clear and dark waxes.  I made a little spanish moss nest and polymer clay eggs and VIOLA!

Madonna and Child Necklace with Vintage Rhinestones!

My newest addition to my Etsy shop and my new favorite of all the jewelry that I have ever created.  I don't know what it is about this piece, it just speaks to me.  It is my favorite Madonna and Child image, but then again maybe it's all the bling!!

Vintage Prayer Cards

As a little girl I remember going through a drawer in my mom's dresser where she kept her jewelry box, her bible and a box full of beautiful prayer cards.  I would sit for hours and be amazed at the vintage holy graphics.  Our bible had amazing religious Renaissance pictures in it.  I wish I could find another one like it.  It got lost somehow in the shuffle after my dad passed away.  And the holy cards that she had!  Wow!  I had aunt's that were nun's and I don't know if they gave her some of them or if she just picked them up at church or funerals. Unfortunately, after mom passed, my dad got rid of them all, not thinking that anyone would want them.  I am inspired by these beautiful cards and use a lot of them in my jewelry.  I also use vintage rhinestones, which I always loved to look at in mom's jewelry box.

I miss those days, the wonder and the marvel of a great new discovery!  I hope to collect a few vintage holy cards just to bring back the memory of sitting in her room.
